When to dispute? What to say?

I have 9 student loans with Sallie Mae. One is showing late, due to a mistake that Sallie Mae wont fix. (Payment on current loan misapplied to deferred loan!) It appears on TU alone. I disputed it as "not mine" and it came back verified Late November.

    1.How soon can I re-dispute w/o being labeled frivolous?
    2.What is the best challenge?
3.Any ideas for dealing with Sallie Mae directly.

    Thanks for your collective wisdom

Man, if you've got all that documented, I think I would be working towards a small claims suit. They have verified a false statement; that's two FCRA violations. Refusing to correct a demonstrably false statement, one more. You might even do a search ( on Creditnet) on the term GLBA. I saw a thread on that about two weeks ago. I think there might be some useful info in that law; more violations to cite! At $1000 a pop, you may just be able to get Sallie to listen to reason and settle long before you actually file.

    Good Luck!

I am still learning, but I have learned a couple things worth sharing. 1. Keep trying. 2. If one method of disputing doe not work, try another.

I recently disputed 15 items by mail (a nice long detailed letter). Everything verified. Then I did it online. Everything verified. Then I called. Everything was gone in two hours. 15 deletions. What you might want to try is to call and be very sweet. It might work. I admit I was so ticked off that I was not nice. But, nice usually works better. And, when they laugh in your face, try again in a few days. I think a lot of this depends on the clerk you get.
