Run it up trying to pay interest on the money you've already borrowed and shouldn't have, then declare BK?

I haven't been there a while either, but people who have "only" $100,000 in credit lines surely do not get credit card application denials listing:

    - too many open credit lines with too many zeros after the "$" sign.

Yeah, I was actually denied for some card because I had too much credit already. Funky!

My utilization % at that time was minimal.

"IF" YOU THINK ABOUT IT...EXCESSIVE CREDIT LIMITS usually are not from the TOP 5-10 BANKS...

SECOND RATE BANKS USE THAT SCAM!!!

I don't even want to count it right now, but we have more or less $250K+ in credit. Majority of it unused.

That is counting the AmEx Plat which has no preset spending limit, and it once had a balance of $80K+ for about a week.

BofA & Amex (Optima) seem to give us steady credit line increases every other 3-4 months. The moment DH's FICO started going up, even AT&T Universal (Citi) started chipping in. Not to mention that they also decreased our APR.

You know what really bums me out? Not so long ago we were in a financial dump. I had a job, DH didn't, we were paying the bare minimum on all of our cards, and no one ever batted an eyelash about it. Well, no one other than Chase, who proceeded to jack us into oblivion even after FICO was going steadily up.

But how did we manage to keep all these credit lines going I honesty don't know.

George, you got EXCESSIVE INCOME as a denial reason?! Oh boy...

I personally don't see the point of having that much credit, but maybe I'm just too young and poor to understand ;)

I use credit FOR MY BENEFIT!!!

    I get mileage...I use BT'S...

"IF" I GET 0.00%...I MAX IT OUT!!!

MOST OF THE CARDS ARE UNUSED...

I can't remember the last time I was over 50% DEBT TO CREDIT LIMIT RATIO...

"IF" YOU HAVE ONE CARD AND THEY "JACK" YOU...WHAT DO YOU DO???

I HAVE LIKE 20 AND IF THEY "JACK" ME...THEY ARE GONE (in most cases)...AND I MOVE ON...AND THEY LOSE 100% OF MY BUSINESS!!!
