    I've not been an active participant on this board for a while, but figured I'd give my status:

    TU (my absolute WORST report)! 521

    5 revolving accounts (all crap):

    Cap 1 (2x's)
    Providian (closed, but paying)
    RNB/Target
    Crooks Country Bank

    All current, good payment history over past year, Cap 1, Target, and CCB all perfect, Providian and Cap 1 a few 30 day lates in past 7 years.

    paid car loan ($16K, no lates)
    Paid revolving (1800, no lates)
    Student Loan (deferred, 3K)

    5 collection accounts (3 unpaid, 2 paid, 2 paid in dispute, 2 unpaid now paid for deletion, remaining unpaid to be PIF for deletion in a few months)

    2 judgments (1 unpaid, 1 paid)

    13 inquiries in the last month (for the car I couldn't get) and 1 prior to that in September (for the Sears card I couldn't get also).

    EQ & EFX (unsure scores, but last check barely over 600)

    Has all the same revolving information and public records, and two collections each (both paid, soon to be deleted).

    The only 2 things I can think of are to wait until the unpaid judgment comes off, and to zero out my cards (working on it).

    I think that TU scores entirely differently than the other two, and that hurts, especially as my TU is the only one that seems to get pulled (haven't had EFX pulled in 2 years plus except for PRM and my own inquiries).

    I just signed up for the trial at PG, and my score on EQ according to them is 558 (lower than I though), and my TU is 521 as of last report. I'm going to do an experiment over the course of the next few months to try to determine what impact the following have on these scores:

    - Deletion of collection accounts (this month);
    - Reduction in revolving balances;
    - Inquiries (no new);

    The biggest factors that they listed are:

    - Past delinquency (duh!)
    - Balances on credit cards (near max on all, but had realized that and paying them all off in the first 5 months of this year);
    - Available credit (isn't that the same thing as balances?)

    This ought to be interesting, to say the least. There's little else that I can do, as I have so few collection accounts, and all but one should be off shortly. I'm sure that the 2 public records (judgments) I have are what's killing me most, but there's not a whole lot that I can do about those (public records are a real bear to get off).

    1/04:

    TU - 521
    EQ - 558
    EX - ???

    Ok, PG went up one point today for my Capital One Kmart posting this month's on time payment. If that's the case, I wonder if I will be getting one point every month for each account, or if this was just a fluke. I'll be ordering all three "fako" scores at the end of the month to see where I'm at, and might do that once per month to see if there's any changes.

    On a negative note, still no changes on my TU since I disputed 2 collection accounts, but they still have another 20 days or so.

    I did get my letter stating PIF for deletion from one collection agency (< $100). These are folks who had two accounts for the same bill on my account (they claimed MCI sold it, pulled it, then reassigned it, hence the two accounts). Either way, it gave me leverage to get them both deleted. They even apologized for any "inconvenience" I was caused by their actions. Something tells me I might've been up $1,000 if I had pursued...
