Hello everyone this is my first post on Creditnet message board. Currently I have a EQ Fico score of 670. I have four accounts in my credit history, I have one closed Discover CC 24 months old and an open Visa CC 29 months old. I have a student loan that is currently in Dispute which shows 60 days late and 90+days late.

I was wondering which AMEX Credit Card I should apply for? I just want to get my foot in the door so which is the easiest for me to get: The Basic Optima® Card, Delta SkyMiles® Options Credit Card with no annual fee, or the Delta SkyMiles®Credit Card with $55 fee but waived if own a charge card.

    Thanks.

You shouldn't. If you've got a relatively short credit history with those lates, I wouldn't waste the inquiry.

To answer your question, however, I found the Delta SkyMiles card was pretty easily to qualify for. The Basic (Green) Charge Card seems to be fairly easy, as well.
Come to think of it, you may want to apply for the Green Card and if you're denied, give New Accounts a call and see if they can approve it anyway. New Accounts actually gave my sister a Green card when she had a BK still listed on her CR, so...

Best of luck with AmEx. Once your foot is in the door with them, they're (usually) a great company! :)

Should I apply now while my Student Loan is in dispute? Would they be able to see that my account is in dispute?
I will try to apply for the Basic Green Card, Should I try calling first to apply or try online? Does anybody know the number to apply to get the Green charge card?
    Thanks.

To be perfectly honest, I *think* the loan will show as "In Dispute" but I could be wrong. I'm sure someone will correct me if that's the case. It may be best to hold off until the dispute is resolved, though.
At any rate, the best thing to do is to apply @ www.americanexpress.com and if you're not instantly approved, you should wait a few hous and give AmEx New Accounts a call.

Talk with one of the reps, and explain the situation. Being that the negs. are only late payments to begin with, you may have some luck.

Let us know how it goes! :)
