Thanks for the info nightlifer. I applied this weekend for a checking account and was also offered the $1000 overdraft and $5000 Visa. It seemed a very generous offer so I'll guess I'll just see what transpires.

    Again, thanks.

Nope. However, it has recently made an appearance under my UmbrellaBank online accounts. Paired up with it being on my EXP report, I think there is a good chance I might actually live to see it. I will post once that happy moment arrives.

Like I said before, for me $5K is a rather generous TL - in fact, my highest (if I ever get the darn thing, that is). I can't really afford to be choosy.

Don't I have to activate the card first though? Also, while I do have the account number, I can only guess what the expiration date is.

I'm sorry I don't mean to sound rude, I'm just surprised they are taking so darn long to get it to you. I 'm rooting for ya!! What do they say when you call them?

No, I didn't think you sounded rude at all. Of course, you are the reason I got into this in the first place... Perhaps I should blame it all on you. ;)

Oh, many different things. Seems like each rep has a different story. I quoted a few in one of my previous postings (see above, the quotes are italicized).

I can't wait for you to get it! :) keep us posted, maybe some day I'll apply lol

Will.....speaking of will........we were discussing you today and the millions of cards you have with excellent credit. We were wondering if there is such a thing as too many cards?

    WHEN YOUR "GEORGE" YES...

I did have almost $300,000 in the 80's & 90's...BUT THEN THERE WAS THE F.I.C.O. MONSTER!!!

I had to "BACK OFF" under $200,000 now...(I THINK)

A while back there was lot of people that got approved and had trouble getting the actual cards.

I thought people here were saying that Umbrella stopped doing the cc. Did they restart?

Amy, I have a checking account with Netbank, out of state for me, and I just mail them a check once in a while to keep the account active. It's pretty easy as long as you don't need the funds right away.

I opened a checking account online last week and was approved for $1000 overdraft and $5000 CC. Haven't seen anything yet but hopeful (and patient).

Yeah, patience is what you will need a lot of over the next few weeks. My advice is to keep calling them though, as often as you can. And ask for a confirmation/reference number at the end of every call, regardless of what they tell you.

You are on the show now, too. It's the UmbrellaBank show - kinda like "Whose Line Is It Anyway," where CSRs get to improvise about the reasons you haven't received your card yet. Much like "Whose Line," it's not that funny after a while.

Bigmon, my productive relationship with Umbrella closely mirrors that of livefromny's - the only difference is that I got approved for the overdraft and CC almost two months ago, and haven't seen the card yet.

Live....don't make us beg, do tell. Are you "assisting" with the show?

Big......I'm lost, why are we talking about netbank?

    Amy,

You mentioned you were looking at an out of state bank and were wondering about how to make deposits. I was referring as to how I make deposits to an out of state bank which for me happens to be Netbank.

    OH HAPPY HAPPY DAY.

For those of you who are familiar with my UmbrellaBank saga, skip the rest of this paragraph. For anyone else who is curious, a quick recap: I was approved for the UmbrellaAIR Visa Platinum Rewards card ($5K, 9.9% fixed APR) almost exactly two months ago. Within these two months, I spent a grand total of 20 hours on the phone with UmbrellaBank Customer Service, trying to figure out whether I would ever live to see the card. I grew to be in awe of the UmbrellaBank CSRsâ?? inventiveness as they came up with a million reasons for why it was taking so long.

The mail arrives promptly at about 3 pm every afternoon. As always, I dart to the mailbox right after the mail truck pulls away. AT LAST! A thick envelope from Madison, Wisconsin. Inside, an UmbrellaAIR Visa Platinum Rewards card ($5K, 9.9% fixed APR). Two months of waiting have come to an end. I do a little dance in the living room, thankful that my wife is in the kitchen and canâ??t see me.

However, a terrible feeling of something being wrong stirs deep inside my credit soul. I take a more careful look at the card.

On it, my last name is misspelled.

Now, folks, mine is a three-letter last name. IMHO, that is very hard to misspell. I start laughing uncontrollably, making my wife and the cat wonder if they perhaps should take up refuge in the basement. The past two months flash before my eyes as I mentally brace myself for some more quality time on the phone with UmbrellaBank. These people not only crack me up, they infringe upon my very sanity.

But wait! What is this other envelope in the mail pile? It looks exactly the same as the first one, and is also from Madison, Wisconsin. A shaking hand reveals ANOTHER UmbrellaAIR Visa Platinum Rewards card ($5K, 9.9% fixed APR). With my last name spelled correctly. Same account number, of course.

My faith in the humanity is restored. My faith in UmbrellaBank is restored only partially, until further notice. The wife and the cat shrug their shoulders and go about their business as usual.

Congratulate me, please. I think my patience has earned it.
