Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? Actually I think I was saying "what on earth WOULD I do with an out of state checking account?" because umbrella would be out of state. I think. Happy 4th by the way ya'll! I'm taking a break from the pool while the kiddos nap.
Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? That was absolutely priceless! We that have waited with you, rejoice!! Congrats!!!!!!!! (ps how long from the time you were accepted did they start reporting? It was way before you got the cards wasn't it?)
Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? Tried Umbrella bank yesterday and got the offer for 1k overdraft and 5k on Visa. I checked yes. Mailing my check for $100 today. Rep told me it takes 4 weeks to get card. I forgot to ask how long before overdraft is ready. They ran 2 soft INQ's on EXP. Exactly 1 year ago I applied and got turned down.
Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? Good luck with that, Bigmon. My OD took about a month to go into effect. My Visa card... well, you know the story. It was definitely longer than 4 weeks. On a happier note, ever since I received the card, I've enjoyed using it. Livefromny, any updates on your UmbrellaBank card? Amy B, sorry, I didn't notice your question above at first. Yeah, this card hit my EXP report about 2 weeks before I actually got it. It found its way to the TU report right around the same time it found my mailbox. It's still not on my EQ.
Re: Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? Well... Let's just say it's getting very interesting. I am not impressed with them so far. I sent their CEO a letter on Friday and this may become a legal matter. I was pretty clear about that in the letter. Fill you in later. Long day and too tired to type!
oooooh legal action, do tell. Hi Big! Hi Night! Hey big...what kind of fee do they hit you with on the od?? I don't know if I'd want to use that, anyone got any opinions on that?
Amy, Haven't seen you in a while. I'm not sure of the fee. I took it mostly for an emergency. They only did a soft INQ too.
Hi Amy - the OD fee was $25/year. Not sure if it's worth it, either, but decided to keep it for the same reason Bigmon did.
We took the kids to alaska for 3 weeks. Whew, good to be home. Big, I'll be posting some tidbits to the biz credit thread. Night....just heard generations doesn't report if you're looking for such a beast.
Really? For biz or personal? Who'd they pull? Where are you? What'd ya get.....ya know.....details man!
Amy - nothing special with Generations, really. It was my second CC (March of this year), initial application denied, overruled on reconsideration (phone call directly to their HQ in Kansas City, not PFB). 1K limit. 15.9% APR, personal. They did want recent paycheck stubs, copies of front and back of my license, SSN verification, name and birthday of my neighbor's cat, etc., etc. Pulled TU. I was in Massachusetts at the time. After a couple of months, they sent me a new, redesigned card, to replace my "old" one. Ugly as sin - almost completely white, with a small Generations logo. Looks like a hotel room access key. No problems with their billing at all. Unlike Umbrella, they do have a very nice and functional online account access/pay system. Sure enough, they don't report to any of the CRAs (confirmed with a manager).
Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only?

Probably because it is so darn expensive! The CRAs make it CHEAP ($8 a name) to report bad payors, but outrageous to report the good. I keep saying it's a definite conspiracy!
Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? PS We work for our own company, but this is the first year we became W2's employees. Would paystubs for us work (as long as they have the tax id number or something?) They're nothing fancy.
Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? The W2 should work. Especially, if you have a corp. Sometimes if they think you are cooking the books they will want to see your personal bank statement to see if you actually deposit the paycheck. I have a friend that desposits his check every week and slowly withdraws the money and puts it back into his business account. The downside to doing payroll on yourself is the taxes.
We were thinking about just going for generations biz loc so they know up front we are self employed. We don't have w2s yet, this is the first year we became employees. (incorp the first of the year.) Maybe just do the tax returns and get it over with. We actually deposit more a month into our bank acct than we get paid, wonder how we could use that to our benefit. Pooch any ideas?
Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? I do know that when Amex reviewed our biz Gold for a line higher than $10K they asked for 3-6 months of the cover page of our biz bank statements. Interestingly, they didn't ask for anything like that on the personal Gold and it had a higher internal limit for quite a while than the biz card did. They've never declined a charge, but got a little antsy until they got the bank statements showing adequate cash flow. Most creditors when asking for proof of income for biz lines want the biz tax return and/or financials for the past couple of years. Sometimes they want the personal tax returns as well. Hope this helps a bit anyway. DemPooches
Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? I think Old Navy does a soft if you apply in store. I applied for a card in the store of neither of the big 3 had a hard inquiry on it.
Re: Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? Jiminy....sounds like a pain. Who should we avoid? haha Some months our cash flow stinks - feast or famine. Now...if we have a lot of cash laying around in banks all over town, then hey....they might like that. or would they not like it because it's too many bank accounts?? lol I give up. Hey....do biz. creditors look at anything besides a paydex?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Which banks do soft inq only? HAY...if I can be DENIED for "EXCESSIVE INCOME"...WHY CAN'T YOU BE DENIED FOR EXCESSIVE BANK ACCOUNTS???
