I am trying to figure out which Visa or Mastercard cash back card I want. I have been using my MBNA worldpoints card and found out that the tier is somewhere around .75% cash back if you trade in PTS for cash, so I've decided to get a cashback card, but which one? 1. convert chase plat to stockback 2. citi dividend plat select 3. bank one free cash rewards I would have already converted chase plat to stockback but here is my dilemma. I have my Amex gold and MBNA for everyday purchases and my chase plat 0% right now and my optima plat 8.24% to carry balances on. If I convert my chase plat to stockback (which would now be my everyday card) that would mean that I would have to carry balances on my MBNA and everyone seems to think that is horrible idea, so if anyone could recommend a solution for my perdicament it would be a great help to me, thanks! Also, if I get the citi or the bank one my MBNA would be sockdrawered since I have been told by most not to revolve balances on it.
Solution: Carry balances on the Optima platinum. Or did I miss something? In deference to the "Small is Beautiful" crowd, perhaps I should point out that you don't need to carry any balances at all.
only thing I was thinking, what if the place that I need to carry a balance from doesn't take amex? I guess I could always put it on my MBNA and if they try to jack me BT to my amex optima right?
