I believe I heard somewhere that Equifax's FICO score (Beacon FICO) is the only *genuine* FICO score and that scores from TransUnion and Experian are fake scores. Is this true? If EQ is the only real FICO then why do lenders pull TU and EX scores at all?
Lenders usually pull some version of a real FICO score. Up until recently the only real FICO a consumer could get was your Equifax score through myfico.com. TU offers a consumer available FICO score now (also through myfico.com I believe)...you have to pay for it, and it is NOT the score they deliver with your report. You must get the TU FICO online. There is some information from the FAQ that goes into this stuff...here is a post you can find in the FAQ from Erik776 that explains it well. -Peace, Dave
