I'm attempting to build some more credit. Right now I have a First Premier Bank card with a $200 limit and an Orchard card with a $300 limit, plus I am an AU on my dad's AMEX (perfect history since 1986). My scores are still in the 560's. I want to get a secured card, since thats about all I will qualify for, but I can't decide between Bank of America and American Pacific Bank. I know both are good, but which is better?

    Thanks.

instead of adding new credit, focus on what is currently reporting that is dragging your score down. adding new credit won't necessarily increase your score - it will shorten your length of accounts. i would recommend to fix what is bad, and just pay on time for now and that should help your score. you might want to get a small installment loan to balance out your accounts.

I agree, I would work on what you've got.

I agree with the previous two posted. you wont need a secure card. Dont apply for any card at this time. Just let the accounts old some months and then apply for Amex Hilton or Delta Optima or an store card.

From everything I read in this and other forums I belive in your situaiton more credit might hurt your score.. If you allready have 2 cards I wouldnt get any more..
