Along the lines of the very useful "Who doesn't the goodwill letter work with" thread, I thought it might also be helpful to figure out who doesn't verify to the CRA when an item is disputed. I'll start. WFNNB/Express - all 3 CRAs
LOL. No, just the ones that got deleted from your report easily on the first dispute (even though they were correct) because they obviously didn't respond or didn't care or didn't have records. The idea being that someone else might know which ones would likely come off easily.
I'm thinking this will vary a lot dependent on the situation. Most oc's will verify when doing so is in their best interest (i.e.: when they believe there is still a debt which can be collected). SO, if someone tells you that "Creditor A" didn't verify, that doesn't mean every one else will have an easy time with them. I have a related question to this one, however. Looking over equifax, I see that there are some creditors who update regularly, even on closed accounts while some haven't updated in years. In my mind, (given my admittedly limited knowledge on the subject so far) if a creditor hasn't bothered to update a file in 2+ years, they are less likely to respond when the CRA's ask for verification than the ones who still report monthly. Also, these creditors are more likely to "re-submit" entries that have been deleted by the CRA's, when they do their regular monthly update. Anyone have thoughts on this? Am I completely wrong?
After working on this for almost a year, I can tell you that I don't see the same thing happen from creditor to creditor, bureau to bureau. FOr example, my very first "spam" dispute, First USA & Associates came off of both EQF & EXP on the first round. Associates is still reporting on TU a year later after numerous disputes and First USA only came off of TU when I threatened them (and meant it) with a lawsuit. So, was it the creditor that deleted it via no reply or the sloppy work of the CRA. I really can't say. I think it is pretty much a crap shot most of the time.
