Do I: 1. Letter of Validation to - OC? CA? CRA? 2. Dispute letter to - OC? CA? CRA? Following that, can I then send a letter to the CRAs disputing the information based on "not mine", "SOL" or "inaccurate"? Just get me off on the right foot and I'll be good to go from there. Thanks! Oh... I have about 30 inaccuracies on my report --- can do all at once or do I really have to do only a few at a time? Sheryl
First thing you want to do is dispute as "not mine" with all three CRAs. you can do this on line when you order your report directly from the CRA. The SOL has no impact on the CRAs unless the negative tradeline is over 7 yrs 6 months old. SOL is only an affirmitive defense against a lawsuit. Wait until you hear back from the CRAs. The online dispute process should knock a bunch of them off for you. Then, for remaining accounts, send validation letters to all the CAs. OCs are not requierd to validate. Read the validation section at the top of the board very carefully and follow the directions to the letter. Make sure you never, ever sign your letters - once the CAs get a hold of your sig they can forge whatever "proof" they want. Incidentally, if you know, and can prove, that the CAs are "verifying" incorrect information you may have grounds for a suit. That's for another discussion though Good luck Poochie
shouldnt you send validation letters to CA's first CMRRR, then soon as the CA receives your letter(check online), dispute with CRA as "not mine". That way, you might catch the CA in a violation. BEFORE you do that: 1. I'd order 1 report from each CRA(no 3 file types). 2. Opt Out 3. Then dispute all of your old addresses as incorrect. 4. Then I'd work on bumping the inquires. Good Luck
