Hello everyone, quick question: I have a "charged off as bad debt" on my TU being reported by Cap1. The closed date is 10/97 the verified date is 06/02. Which state do I use to see if the SOL has expired. Do I use the state I live in now? The state that the Cap1 is in? I was overseas when I initially received the card. Also, do you think I can get it deleted? What's the best way. The original overdue was $13.00, now it's $894.00 (ridiculous)

The state the SOL can apply in is usually the state the contract was signed in, or the state you currently reside in. Not sure about an "overseas" example. It *may* be either the state your permanent residence was when you initially entered into the contract, or the state you live in now.

Were you in the service at the time you opened this account?
