I read in a previous post that there is not a violation of any guidelines/law if an account is not listed as 'in dispute' on your CRA's when you are disputing an account while asking for validation. The violation occurs only after '. Can someone help me with this? I have received incomplete validation from a CA regading a utility bill. The account is not listed as 'in dispute' on any of my CRA's and validation is incomplete 30+ after requesting validation.

It depends on what they have sent to you. If they feel that they have validated the account then the dispute is over, unless you notify them again of the information that you are requesting and are specific about it. Dispute with the CRA as well.

    FDCRA

§ 807(8) Failure to mark item as disputed by consumer.

They must by law mark the item disputed, if they do not, they owe you 1k.
Make sure you have copies of your CRA report, your letter of validation and dispute as they must mark the item has been or is in dispute by the consumer.
Also, make sure you have copies direct from the CRA and not other sources.
