My wife and I both got letters today from the GM card stating they were jacking our rates up to almost 24%. Mine was for a deliquency that does not exist and they penalized my wife for merely paying 150% of the minimum due. I dumped all my household products and sliced and diced the cards. If enough people get them I saw we complain the the attorney general and the ftc because this is pure greed.

Are they pulling this crap on the Corvette cards as well? I BT'ed what I had left before the intro expired but I'm sure I'm a prime candidate for a jack based on the reason(s) they gave you.

They are ---SO GONE--- if they even try that BS with me.

Household sucks! I have a GM card and a regular HH card. They jacked my APR to 22.99 for NO GOOD REASON - always paid at least twice the minimum, no lates, no over limits - EVER! No derogs on my reports. I called to complain, to no avail. I paid off the balance and it now sits in my sock drawer. The CSR asked if I'd like to close the account. I said no, I'll keep it open, but I'll never use it until they come back with a better offer. There's no annual fee, so I'll just let the tradeline age.

Maybe the thing to do is to complain to GM (NOT HH) via PlanetFeedback. If enough of us do it, maybe something will be done. GM doesn't like that kind of bad PR. The card is a great idea in theory, but NOT in the hands of Household Bank!

And unfortunately, HH is not the only company pulling this kind of BS on their best customers. They're all crooks, especially with the prime hovering around 1%!!!

tr1252, don't just let the card in your sock drawer and never use it. They may close it for inactivity and report "closed by credit grantor" on your report.

Use it every 4 or 5 months to buy a tank of gas or a gallon of milk or something, then pay it in full the next month. That keeps it active.

Thanks! Maybe a gallon of milk, but at today's gas prices, it takes $40. to fill my tank - that would be too generous!
