If I remember correctly a few weeks back a few people said they were fighting the EQU inquiries. I was curious to find out if they got removed. I just went to EQU.com and it said investigation started 10/29 due to end 10/31 ( I sent the dispute CRRR and they signed for it on the 27th) I'm assuming thats what that investigation is. I'm sure I've asked before but my brain has stopped working (tylenol w/codeine YUM!) do they send some type of letter saying they can't delete them? Has ANYONE had even one inquiry removed? If they send some bogus letter saying they can't remove them is there anything further I can do to get them to remove them? BTW I just wanted to say that everyone on here is so helpful. I can't believe the amount of things I have accomplished on mine and my hubbys reports in the few weeks I have been on this board. I owe it all to the encouraging words and reassurance that with enough energy things can go your way! Thank you! KHM
EQUIFAX "MIGHT" let you delete an inquiry if the credit card company pulled two for 1 application, or you asked for an increase in the credit limit (IT CAN BE DONE WITH A SOFT)...if they pulled a "HARD"...you could dispute it. I have NOT disputed anything in a long time because I have to call to GRAND JUNCTION (affiliate)...long distance...or keep my wife's cell phone to call from work at lunch time...(PRETTY PINK PHONE...I WOULD HAVE TO LOCK MYSELF IN THE MANAGEMENT OFFICE TO CALL).
Re: Who has tried to fight EQU inqu George, off-topic but just so I understand... You would have to lock yourself in a closet in order to use a pink phone? How long would you have to stay in the closet? What would it take in that circumstance to get you to come out of the closet? Inquiring minds want to know. Doc
George, Key Bank pulled 2 equifax reports on me on the same day when I applied for a student loan 2 months ago. I called equifax and they refused to delete 1. Told me I had to get the creditor to delete it. I faxed the inquiry page to the creditor and so far they have not removed it. Nasty letter going out in the next day or 2 and if that doesn't work, I'll start threatening.
I have had inquiries deleted from EQ. However, you are less likely to have them deleted if you actually have an account w/ the creditor. I asked the creditor and EQ at the same time to remove the inquiry, so I am not sure which one was effective.
I have a local Eq office here. I disputed one inquiry and it was deleted. Most everything else was not. I have not tried to have any of the others removed yet.
Between my husband and I...we have had about 15 inquiries taken of equ...we used the investiagation form through creditexpert.com it can be done
I'm not sure if anyone else has tried this but I sent a letter thru PFB to Equifax telling them I was disappointed they weren't following the regulations set forth in the FCRA. I said that if they did not follows the FCRA rules I would be forced to file a complaint with the FTC as well as consult with an attorney about a possible lawsuit. I'll let you know if this works, if anyone has tried this let me know if it worked. Thanks KHM
If the FTC gets a bunch of complaints about the same problem, don't they usually fire off an investigation and possibly sue? Maybe if we all complain to the FTC it will raise someones eyebrows. Just a thought KHM
And, wouldn't it be worse to get caught "Coming out of the closet" with a pink phone than to get caught gettting in one? Shawn (a joke- not a slam on alternative lifestyles)
Answer this... It is my belief that if an inquiry is pulled by the same creditor over and over, that the first inquiry hurts but any inquiries pulled from them after that don't??? I know we are talking about Equifax but I know first hand that it is this way with Experian. My Credit Union pulled my score THREE TIMES in a weeks period (all on different days) and my score each time was the SAME! I got this information directly from my CU loan agent. I mentioned this to her because I wanted 2 of the inquires deleted due to the result of my score being lowered from multiple inquiries. That's when she showed me that every time they pulled it, it was the same. I saw for my own eyes the report they pulled. I didn't have any inquiries from other lenders in between my CU's inquiries either. So do you think the same rule might apply to Equifax???
credit expert is experian, they are talking about equifax here. Most people , me included have no luch getting equifax inquiries removed.
