    Gillian,

Can you help me out with my Discover goodwill adjustment? What was your letter like? Who replied to it? I need details, because they told me NO.

You can email me if you want...

I could also use a little help with Discover.

By the way, I know that the whole idea of the goodwill letter is based on a continuing relationship with the company, but were any of these for closed accounts? (no hijack intended, just a "quickie"...)

    :)

This is a very encouraging thread!
    Thanks lmckenzie!!!!

I've used the goodwill letter for 4 collections that were paid and I wasn't continuing a relationship with them. And each and everyone took their collection off. The key is getting to the right person in the company.

Like you say in your line, never take a no from someone who doesn't have the authority to tell you yes. :)

    1. rblues, so how do you find the right person?

    2. has anyone written a goodwill letter to fleet bank? i have a 'paid/closed/accountclosed by credit grantor' with them.

    Thanks.
