I'm pretty proud of the fact that I am pretty much done with my Christmas shopping for the year and I've only charged around $300.00 on credit. The rest was in cash and we've bought lots of gifts for our family. So, as far as a Creditnetter (addict really), I consider myself 'nice' this year. How about you guys? Credit Cards - Naughty or nice?
Paid cash for everything. No post-Christmas bills, and that's the time of year I make my money (tax season)
I have been non-balance charging for over a year, so it's two holiday seasons I've been "nice". Nothing goes on a charge unless I can pay it cash when the bill arrives. Mostly I use a paypal debit card, because there's 1.5% back instantly, but I've been using my Cap1 card and paying the balance to coax them into giving me more CL. I've paid down my balances substantially since last year, and that's been so nice my scores have jumped very nice-ly.
I have been what I consider nice--using other people's money. I buy most things with a credit card that gives me airline miles. I pay it off each month, so there's no interest. But I also get to keep my money a little longer, and get miles to boot. I was amazed when I realized how many miles I've earned the past year.
My girlfriend of many years got a Cap One card two weeks ago. I saw it as the perfect opportunity to go ahead and max it out for the Cap One trick on CL. Of course I will not tell her about the trick or why we are maxing it out. She is so happy that I am not looking like the usual cheap guy that I usually have been the last few years. December is my best income month also so its really no big deal. The cash is already put aside when the bill comes, and it will be paid in full. This was the best thing ever. I don't have to go through all of the B.S X-mas time shopping and this is the first year I am not ticked off about how other shoppers take up my time. Not to mention the traffic and parking issues. My girlfriend is so happy with me this holiday season and I so do not deserve it LOL! She filed BK 14 months ago so this is the first holiday season with her having credit. I guess I have been naughty and nice!
damn the man i've got more 0% than i can spend probably need to BT my car note (whats left) to 0% if im smart.
