Why did my score not change?

I had an account with Providian which was transferred over to Emerge. Emerge was reporting to Equifax that I had prior late payments with them. I contacted Equifax and they deleted the negative information off of the Emerge TL. I pulled my credit score after it was deleted and it did not change my score at all. Why would that be?

Same thing happened to me. I had a collection account dated 4/2000 deleted and my score only went up 2 points! But it's not all about the score though. If I applied for a mortgage with 719 score and a collection account, I'm more likely to catch negative attention versus 721 score with NO collection account.

Congrats on your late deletions! Enjoy them! =)

I had an 6x30 and 1x60 lates removed from an auto installment account. The 60 day late was in december of 2001. Account now showing no negatives and paid as agreed. EQ FICO went up a lousy 2 points! Go figure.

I think in my case its due to my Crapital One reporting a utilization percentage of 65% of the high credit limit when I pulled most recently, and only 10% utilization ratio when I pulled previously.

I'll have to pull again next month when the account is 0'd out. I'm expecting a jump of 20+ points.

Ok. I understand. I do have other lates that are showing that are more recent than the late that was deleted. This is my first experience with trying to get anything deleted, so you are right, I should just enjoy the success of it being deleted!! Thanks everyone.
