I've had a Citi card since '98. I got it while in college. Limit never moved an inch from $1500, every increase I requested was denied. Now in the space of 4 months my limit was increased to $3000 with 3 separate credit line increases and I got approved for a Citibank AA card. I am not complaining but I am trying to figure out what gives. -My TU score last time I checked 550 -I have a charged off AT&T Univ. Card -I have two new auto loans from 3/2002 and 2 new cards (Cap1, HH). I have decent income for a 22-year old, from all sources I bring home about $75k. The College Divident Plat Select card that I have with them has perfect payment history ....is that enough to override and if so, how can I get Cap1 to see the light. Or is Citi desperate to give credit?
For college kids it is different. The min. CL for a college card from Citi is $500. So I guess Citi is a little like Cap1, they both issue $500 Platinum cards.
Call now George I just closed my 600.00 Cap 1 from December 01 Yes I called their retention dept and they wanted me to wait a few months for more history. Nope! Closed by Consumer Now.
