Why does this happen sometimes?

Does anybody have any idea why this happens? So far, it has happened to me 4 times...

A collection account is removed but an inquiry appears. Anyone have an idea why? It's a hard inquiry and since it has happened so much, there has to be a reason? Right? Well, probably not, we are talking about CA's but maybe...?

Is it a hard inquiry from the CA in question?
They shouldn't be able to pull a hard one on a dispute. If you were to offer payment on the other hand, they could pull a hard inquiry most likely.

It's so wierd...they delete the collection and place a hard inquiry on the report! 4 times this has happened..it's bizarre

I think "TAINTING" your report is in violation of the LAW...

I got a kick out of the way Bill Bauer put it - "leaving a hickey on the report!"

    LOL

Nana, I just had an AR/REA inquiry placed on my equifax by my favorite, Risk management alternatives, for an account that they have for an alleged phone bill. It's already on my report, I have not disputed it lately, so I agree with Bills hickey theory.
