HAVE TO FILE IN THEIR STATE? I'M NOT TO THIS POINT YET, BUT I SUSPECT I'M GONNA HAVE TO FILE SUIT AGAINST AT LEAST 1 CA FOR REPORTING A BOGUS ACCOUNT TO MY REPORT. I'VE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT IN MY STATE, I HAVE TO FILE SUIT IN THE COUNTY,STATE OF THE AGENCY. IS THIS THE CASE WHERE SOME OF YOU SMALL CLAIMS VETERANS RESIDE? IF I'M WRONG, CAN SOMEONE POINT ME TO ANY INFO THAT STATES OTHERWISE?
each state is different, but you can usually sue in your state because that is where the "actionable offense" took place. if the company does not have an office in your state, they may have a "registered agent" that you can serve. I would contact the local small claims court and get a copy of their guidelines or contact secretary of states office.
