Why should we apply while disputing

I am a little confused here. I know that the FCRA says that while something is under dispute that they must either not report the item or report it with a notation that it is disputed by the consumer.

I also read somewhere that while something is under dispute it does not affect your credit score? Is that correct?

So in other words, if all of the above is correct(especially paragraph two), I should apply for those companies that rely solely on credit scores, propbably online applications, ehh?

As far as I know, placing any derog account in dispute does nothing for your score. It may only help you if your credit report is reviewed manually by a person, and even then that may not really help. I doubt the CRA would ever not report the disputed item (while being disputed) because THEN your score increase.
