I have had a Target Guest card for a year now. Initial credit limit ...$500.00. I have made purchases up to close to the cl, made more than the mim. req. due, and recently paid off the account. Each month my credit limit remains the same.

I thought they review the accounts every 4 - 6 months and increase automatically. What gives??

I had to ask them for a CL increase. I went thru their phone system. I think that it's option 2 or something like that and I received a $200 increase. I didn't know that I had to do this and I have had the acct for 5 years. I thought there might be an automatic increase for me too.

I have a Target guest card and I had to ask for a increase. I got one. They told me you can ask for an increase every three months.

Does Target check your reports when you get a limit increase? If so, sort or hard?

I got approved online for a Target Visa with a CL of $700 last week. I'm interested to see if I can get them to give me a higher limit without having to wait 3-6 months.

    Inqs?

Don't know about the Visa since I only have the Guest Card but as far as I can tell there was NO inquiry either hard or soft. I probably would have seen a hard by now but sometimes I don't see the softs for awhile. When I accessed the option to see about the increase, the computer told me right away that it would be $200 so it didn't seem like they'd have time to check a rpt even for a score.

You don't have to worry about an inquiry. It was either soft or non-existent. They told me that the period of time you have to wait is three months. They also told me that every time you apply you will have to wait 30 days before you apply again or you will be rejected automatically. When you first get the card you have to wait 6 months.

I would just make a note on your calendar three months and one day from your lest credit line increase and try then.

I have Target Guest Card for over three years. Every 3 months, I request to increase credit limit for my Target Guest Card. Last night they increased my Guest Card to $1300. By the way, they don't report credit limit.

OK, there's been several threads on this lately..

First of all, they denied me an increase and sent reasons which didn't seem to fit my credit report. I checked the credit report and there was no pull by Target, hard or soft!

Secondly, they've had a computer glitch which affected payments, etc. They clearly did not pull my credit as they claim.

::::::::growling::::::::Target is not on my happy list!

Please remember that Target themselves are not making this decision. Retailer's National Bank is.

I hope that Target is still in your good graces, Nana, because you pay my bills! lol

No, I'm sorry, Erica, they really are not. I've had unpleasant people handling this, received letters, and they are choosign Retailer's NB to represent them, so they are ultimately responsible for the lies being told to me by RNB. And, it turns out I'm right...since they claim to have info from a report never pulled. I'm afraid I won't be contributing to your pay anymore as I'm paying them off and likely closing them.

:(...I wish there was something I can do to help, but unfortunately, I have nothing to do with the Bank's end of it. :(

I dont' blame you, Erica...but I am one unhappy Nana! I've been good to them, chose them over others, etc.

Retailers National Bank __is__ Target - it's a wholly owned subsidiary. The bank is physically in South Dakota, but the customer service is still the good old Dayton Hudson Credit Services people in Wayzata, Minnesota. The Visa customer service people are in Phoenix AZ or handled by TSYS.

If you've had a late with them (their fault or yours) make sure they clear their records first - they have a long memory about prior delinquencies.

They regularly pull soft inq's on my account (TU) every 4 months or so.

I talked to a customer service rep the other day when getting my wife a card as an AU and she stated they review the accounts monthly for CL increases. Just what they told me.

I have had no soft nor hard pulls except for signing up and getting the card. Had one increase 4 months later. Never been late, never been over limit.

I've had no inquiries either - soft or hard- I got the Target Guest card a few months after my ch 7 discharge - $200 limit. Within 2 mos it was raised to $500 and I didn't ask for it, it just happened.

Yeah, but they turned my increase down based on a credit report they didn't pull and with reasons that don't apply to me...

Sigh...I have to let this go...they'll be gone soon enough...and I've learned..all I can do is take away my business and that of anyone in my family, etc.
