Oh yeah, I did. I was just replying since someone brought the topic back up. Seems as though many people were hit with 2 hard inquiries to get the card.

I'm wondering if the two separate "divisions" utilize the same account with Experian. I had an Experian rep tell me that as per their account agreement (between the company accessing and Experian) they are only allowed to pull once in 30 days. Both EXP and EQ deleted three of four pulls from Landsafe over a period of just over 30 days -- without any problem whatsoever (now TU is another story!)

Do the two pulls show up under the same name? My tactic when I called was to say that I was told by the company who pulled the credit to call the CRA directly and tell them to "de-dup" the pulls (not exactly true). I acted a little bit naive and VERY nice. The additional inquiries were deleted by the next day.

You might consider calling the CRA again and hoping for a different rep (who you get DEFINITELY makes a difference).

DWs two inq's showed up exactly the same, I didn't see any difference in division, address, anything! She was originally denied (6/11) due to a paid cable collection from two years ago (we didn't know it went to colllections) but we got it taken care of and PFBd Bank One. In the PFB letter I was also sure to mention the fact that I didn't like the TWO inq's and didn't want ANOTHER two after this letter, especially if it was denied.

Letter came on Friday: The card is in the mail! Also, they said something about "masking" the inq's to be softs, doubt that'll happen but at least she got the card. Now the providian m/c will die a long, slow, painful death.
