A week ago, I sent the "litigious nutcase" letter to a long-ago fully-paid creditor on behalf of my wife. (I have a greater understanding of the process, so I do all the credit-repair work) Anyway, yesterday the creditor calls her while I was at work and ask her what she wants. Not knowing what to say, she didn't demand deletion or even say that "my terms are clearly peled out in the letter". Any advice on handling such situations in the future? Did my plan get derailed?
It wasn't clear to me either. She was confused and a bit irate over the situation. It sounded like the gentleman told her that he would update the CRAs (whatever that means) and she agreed. I dunno.
Oh dear. Well that might be a problem.. if I were you I'd watch your reports and see what changes happen. Who knows what the CA meant by 'update the reports.' Does your wife remember the name of the person who called her? If so, perhaps you could try to call and get more information. Good luck.
Tell your wife, if one of these guys calls in the future, she should say she is the babysitter, LOL, and just take a message.
"My husband takes care of ALL the credit related matters...give me your phone # and business hours and I will have him call you"
