    Hey everyone,

I got a quick question. Pulled my wife's credit, should be easy to repair. The name with the Credit Reporting Agencies say her maiden name. Now if we change it to her married name, will they link her credit with mine.

If so, that would be a bad thing. We want to rebuild one of ours at a time.

Also, If I send out validation letters with her new name (meaning it doesn't match the one on the Credit report because the last names have changed) will this mess anything up? My gut feeling says this should help since it could confuse the Collection Agencies and cause them not to respond.

Any advice on this would be appreciated.

I think you are under the impression that if she changes the name on her report to her married name, when they pull her report they will also see yours? If so, that's not true, they will only get her report ie only the accounts that she opened or is an AU on.

If you send letters the CAs under her married name, then you are only giving them additional info that they may not have known prior, thus more useful information they can use to skiptrace.
