Hi all. In the experiences of all on the board, are creditors less likely to file suit against you if you are actively disputing, requesting validation, etc...? I have several old charge offs that are coming up this summer. I'm in Texas (a state very favorable to debtors), so my SOL is 4 years. I am actively disputing all of them, both with the creditors themselves and the credit bureaus. I was served last summer on one account and hired an experienced and knowledgable consumer law attorney to assist and represent. Just wondering if creditors would be less likely to sue since I've demonstrated that I will fight.... Cheers,
Each creditor has it own criteria for pursuing litigation. The willingness of the debtor to fight generally does not enter into the equation.
Didn't someone set up a registry of litigious debtors a while back and try to charge something like $1600 for a subscription? Either flyingifr mentioned it or he actually did it...
That actually sounds like a product that would work if marketed properly. However, the start-up costs could be prohibitive. To answer your question, yes, there was mention of it and some previous point.
