...to the husband about wife's DISCOVERCARD ("AU") account in good standing on her EQUIFAX???

CONSUMER DISPUTES THIS ACCOUNT INFORMATION. All we disputed was 3 months of CREDIT LIMIT $17,500 AND BALANCE $17,500 100% MAXED!!! THEY HAD IT THAT WAY FOR 3 MONTHS!!! BALANCE WRONG----->VERIFIED~~VERIFIED~~~VERIFIED...when it was finally fixed...they put that garbage above. (Balance never was higher than $100.00 during those 3 months)

We leave for work usually before 6am and get home usually after 5pm...but I can go home for lunch and call...

I would not ask any other questions or dispute anything else...

    George,
They would not for me, until I faxed a letter signed by my wife giving her permission.
I included on the letters the specific accounts that we would discuss.

    Just my .02

They should George, but they won't. Radi's right.

They just use it as an excuse to dump your call.

Interesting, because I have talked to them about DHs accounts/report, regular CSRs and consumer relations people.

When Vicki Banks called in response to a letter I (DH) wrote, she asked if I was his wife, and after I answered affirmatively, she discussed it all with me. Never blinked an eye at doing so.

I don't think they will. It has been very difficult to get an OC to talk to me about the DH's account, without first talking to him. Rarely have I been able to discuss his account unless it is a "joint account."

You can try, just keep talking when they say no. You might slip by.

The part of the FCRA that explains who is considered a consumer, does include spouse. But, the FCRA does not apply to original creditors, which is why I think OC's seldomly discuss DH's accounts with me, without verifying with him first.

However, once DH talks to the OC's and requests for me to specifally be able to have permission to discuss his account in the future, most will keep a record of my name and identifying information so that in the future I can call and discuss his accounts without him there. It is worth it if you have spouse like mine. I get soooooo tired of having to "hunt" DH down to make the "call" and then sit there while he gives them permission to talk to me.

I'M "PRIMARY" she is "AU" and it is only one account...

I guess we will have to take a 1/2 vacation day, or just put it in the mail.

don't mean to barge in here, but our local equifax affiliate (memphis consumer credit) won't accept any disputes over the phone...even an inaccurate address.
