Will filing CH7 affect my husband?

I'll be meeting with an attorney next week to file chapter 7. My husband is worried about how it will affect him. Does anyone know? We're in Michigan and we're not a community property state, and we don't have anything joint.

He is on my checking account-should I take him off before filing?

As long as there aren't any joint accounts to be discharged, all will be okay. If they are joint he will be responsible for all of it. I was joint on our checking account when my husband filed w/ no recourse, so I wouldn't think that would be necessary! good luck

kelcol is right as long as nothing is joint. Do make sure though that he is not even an authorized user on any of the account to be discharged. It make show up on his CR. I was an AU on a Sears account and it notes "included in BK of primary cardholder." It says it's not a negative item but it doesn't look that good either.

LOL I guess I got really lucky w/ MW then! My dh filed bk w/ them included, I was AU on the card and last time I checked my reports MW was STILL listed in good standing!! not sure how much weight that has since they are out of business, but i'm not complaining!!
