Several days ago I attempted to cash advance one of my credit cards at an ATM in a nearby casino for $100. However the machine only dispensed $20. Casino management/cashier told me that they are not the operators/owners of the machines, but gave the company's name, and the bank's name through which the transaction was processed. Yesterday I sent a CRRR dispute letter to my credit card co explaining what happened. Gave them the name of the casino, the ATM machine owner/oprator name, and the bank's name. Stapled the receipt that the machine spit out to the letter. Any chances that my dispute will go anywhere, and that my credit card will be credited with $80 - the amount i got f...d out of?
There are two types of ATM's at the casinos. One is where you can get money form your daving and or checking, with your pin number and it will cost 2 bucks and then whatever your bank charges The other machine is where you get a cash advance from your credit card and this is a percentage of what you want. BAD MACHINE as the amount to use is prohibitive in my opinion, It seems you used the former, and I would CALL my CC company. Also what you sent your CCC WERE COPIES, correct? I think you have a 99/9 percent chance of getting your money credited. : ) BTW what casino? Woofer
First, you did the correct move by disputing in writing, many consumers do not realize that a dispute must be in writing to be fully legal (most just call). It would seem the end responsibility would be with the owner of the machine, as it did not function properly, and he "benefited" by retaining the $80.00 cash. I'm certian the CC company will not bill you for this until the matter is resolved fully. Be sure to continue making payments on this card until this is resolved.
I am a gambler, BUT I NEVER take any money from a CC to gamble.. BTW last week I hit a jackpot for $3800 and came back with 3K. So to some I would have LOST 800 but I feel I WON 3K : ) Woofer
