Hi all, I have a listing on my credit report that has been reported incorrectly for a long time. I think this listing was disputed on two different ocations citing the erroneous information. Last time I disputed this listing they made it worst by adding that I filed chapter 13. Pleas look; Open Account >Chapter 13 Bankruptcy< Verified date: 03/2004 Balance: $0 Individual Account Opened: 06/1999 Most Owed: $0 Payment Terms: $0 Paid Off: 06/2000 Past Due: $0 Credit Limit: $0 >Status as of 03/2004: Wage earner or similar plan< After they did that I disputed this account one more time and under reason I told them that I never filed chapter 13, today i get the letter from the CRA and they said they verrified the informatio to be correct. What should I do, I want to sue but I want to do-it Federal and I imagine that this type of case can get one some cash, I need an attorney. Especially after I been apliying for a morgage latelly and I am not having luck.
Did you file Ch 13, or did you have a spouse, or ex-spouse file Ch13? If you are "not having luck" on applying for a mortgage, did you lender notify you in writing specifically why? They are required to. Is this account actually yours, and if so, what does the OC say they are reporting? Is the OC reporting the account included in Ch13, or is the CRA reporting this, from public records or whatever?
Neither myself nor my wife ever filed chapter 13. The OC is Child Support and whe I sent them a validation paper they sent me a bill that we allegedlly had for nearlly 600 in 1999. However I do not know how the CRA goes from a 600 debt to chapter 13. Mind you the debt is bogus also and never existed because neither one of us owed any child support.
