I have a judgement on all 3 reports. Will you look at how it's reporting, and tell me what you think? what this is is an old oil bill. I paid it, but too late and they are charging me for court costs (I paid it on the court date, but I never went to court, I was too chicken!)--so it reports more than once. Ok, here goes... TU Docket # *** County court state tax lien Plaintiff: Bureau of taxation entered: 11/95 amount: $695 Docket # *** District court Civil judgement Plaintiff: Webber Energy entered: 02/1997 amount: $316 Docket #*** county court Paid tax lien Plaintiff: Bureau of Taxation entered: 11/95 amount $695 paid: 5/97 Ok, I got a new report, and the top one came off today (yeah!!!!) EXP. Portland district court date filed claim amt. 2/97 $255 civil claim judgement. Plaintiff: Webber energy Is scheduled to continue on record until 2/2004 EQ Public record information Lien filed 11/95; Cumberland Registry of deeds, docket # ***, amount $695; class-state Ok, so, EXP and TU have the unpaid amount different. EQ only shows the unpaid, not the paid. I disputed the unpaid with TU as no unpaid claim on that date, blah blah blah. I didn't really expect it to come off, but I'm so glad it did. I think I'll try this with EQ too, and all that will leave is the paid judgement showing on one, and the unpaid lien showing on 2 (for 2 different amounts! which I'm assuming I'll have to pay!) Any advice? It's just weird that all 3 are reporting this differently. What do you think??? TIA
Also, I was just looking thru my TU file. I have a print out that shows I disputed the Unpaid civil judgement as not mine on 7/1. at the same time I disputed something else-which I already got the verification for. It seems they forgot about the judgement part of my dispute. Should I wait until 8/1, and kindly remind them that it's been 30 days, and I have proof? Or should I just try again to dispute it? When I disputed the unpaid lien, I did it on 7/11- and that one is already back.
Wait until 8/1. You don't want to tip them off. Otherwise they might just "verify" it without really verifing at all.
On 8/1-how do I go about it? Up to this point, all I've had to do is dispute items off my reports. I haven't actually had to play dirty yet. I'm lookig forward to it, but I want to go about it the right way. I want to seem like I know what I'm doing, so they don't walk all over me. I'm thinking I should send them a letter, showing my proof, and telling them that the 30 days are up. I'll send it CRRR. Should I state in the letter that they should delete it??
Just to play it safe, I'd say do it in a letter, CRRR, vs. on the phone that is. Or, you could fax it to them. And yes, tell them it's now been 30 days, time has run out, please delete.
Do the CRA's usually list the judgement twice, once as paid and once as unpaid? It seems strange to me. Of course, everything they do is a little strange to me!! LOL
Are you still living at the same address that you were whent he judgements were obtained? If not, the best method I have found for getting a judgement removed from your reports is to dispute off your reports the previous address that corresponds to the judgment address as not correct. (All 3 have done this over the phone w/ no questions asked) Once that address is gone, dispute the judgement as not yours...rumor has it that they have to match 2 of 3 of name, social sec. #, address and usually the judgements don't include your social #. This has worked for me with Equifax and Trans Union, still working on Experian.
well, I tried this with experian. I deleted a couple of different spellings of names that weren't me. I also tried to delete the address, but it's the one I had when I had my sears acct., and sears is reporting it. She said they would investigate, and let me know in 10 days. I have a ?? about that though. Sears is due to come off my card in dec. could I try again then, and see if they'll delete the address then, or would they keep that request in their system, so I can't try again later!! TIA
Do you have online access to your EX report? If you do, sign on and go to "personal information". Check to see if your addresses (the one you disputed) is highlighted in blue and says something like "item under investigation". In most cases, the disputed address will be deleted (since you disputed as not mine/never lived there) within hours or a day or two.
Thanks, I will do that in a minute. If it doesn't work, I'll dispute some other way. I'm perfectly willing to pay it, I just want it to come off either way. Since I did pay the original bill, I don't feel so guilty about this if I can get it off w/out paying. All it is is their lawyers fees!!!
Yes, she worked quick, they are all under investigation. Hopefully Sears won't verify, but I won't hold my breathe. I'd love to take the easy road to get this off my report! Thank you for all of your help!!
It worked!! Thank you so much! The address was listed twice, 2 different ways, and now they are both gone. They are going to send me a letter in the mail verifying, and once I get it, I'm going to go back and dispute the lien. Hopefully it will work. I'm so excited!! If it does, I'll be down to 2 derogs on EXP, and one falls off in Dec. YIPPEE!!
