Don't fee too bad. That works both ways, let me explain...

    The Wife has:
    MBNA 12K
    Citi 20K
    Cap.1 8K

So, applied for a got the AMEX Blue. Sounds good right?. It is, except the initial credit line is $3000. A call to CS and credit analyst she found out that the Citi card is the reason why the AMEX limit is so low, since the limit on the Citi card is so high even though tha balance has never gone more than 6K and is now about 600 dollars.

Go figure. HH income plays a role too, so this is a knife that cuts both ways.

I think that one of the reasons that I started out with such a high CL on the Blue is that I BT $6200.00 which gave me a $11,000 started CL.

I do plan on asking for a lower APR and an increase in the CL when I get the card.

    I'll keep everyone posted.

    Best regards,

    • This is what I tried to do - with the application for the Blue I requested a BT of $10,000, but they gave me only $5,000 ... :-(

Yeah, looks like Amex takes into account your HH income.

Re: Re: Question on BofA and US Bank Apps.

No word from Chase, US Bank and Bank One. Did call Chase and the rep is telling me that the application is still being reviewed.

Yesterday my Banker recommended MBNA's Worldpoints MC.

Taking into account George's bad experiences and the positive ones from other posters here, I applied for my 7th cc this week.

I did the app via telephone and spoke first to a app. taking rep. and than was transferred to a cc account specialist.

The specialist asked some tough questions but was very positive about my TU file. The rep. concerns were mainly centered around two points. 1) Why was my Providian balance was so high 2) Why my active accounts only go back 7 years

The rep. did asked me for permission to pull another report (as most MBNA posters here have written that two pulls will happen) to check on my accounts. Have to admit that both reps were very polite and efficent.

Okay- I was approved for $7500.00 with 10.99%(v) and a BT rate of 2.90% for 6 months and than a go to rate of 10.99%, no annual fee. Transferred the last of my high balance account (18.99%). Yes I will keep an eye on them. Could have not done it without all the info written here about MBNA.

I am REALLY DONE for the next 9-12 months. Can't imagine what my TU report is going to look like.

    So far on my approvals:
    Amex Green
    Amex Blue 11k CL
    BofA PLT 6k
    MBNA Worldpoints MC 7.5k

    Best regards,
    Mirage

    vghost, thanks.

It's amazing what a clean report can do and the offers that are available. Have to be very responsible as the limits will grow as well as the offers.

Going to adopt the tactics that most posters are using. Some of my cards are strictly for BT offers and some will be used for everyday use.

Can't wait to tell Providian Bye-Bye!

    Best regards,
    Mirage

    Hedwig- thanks!

Yeah, really don't know what the hold-up is but the rep. at US Bank related that the application is still pending on the verification of some of my info.

    Whatever that means.

I have to admit Amex was efficient.

I never even spoke to BofA.

MBNA was just a short but polite and to the point 'interview'.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

Congrats, Mirage! I would go for MBNA but if they have a blacklist, I am on it (they were in BK).

Let us know about Bank One, US Bank, and Chase!

Which Bank One card did you go for?

Niceguy, yes I was impressed with the speed of the MBNA cc specialist.

Of course you have the Citibank card, which I am never going to be able to apply for as I listed them on my bk.

I'll see if Bank One has a blacklist or not. There is not even a phone number for me to call to inquiry about the status.

As for the Bank One, I went for the United Airlines Plt.

As for the poster who wanted to know about the MyFICO.com promo codes, yes it's a $3.00 discount of the listed price.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

Received the Amex Green yesterday (Applied on Nov 3rd late evening).

Also noticed that on my CE-EXP report that MBNA (applied on Nov 7th in the morning) is reporting, dropped the utilization from 34% to 22%. With all the inqs and this new TL, CE-EXP has me dropping 1 point.

It's amazing how fast Amex and MBNA can move. Still no word from US Bank, Chase and Bank One.

    Best regards,
    Mirage
