    LOL, they'll renew it if they intend to continue their business. Regardless, their registrar will keep the name on hold for them anywhere from 3 to 6 months.

    Used the IP and went to set up an account and told me all (yeah all) of my info was invalid. Wonder if they have disabled the site or something. I know I at least got my name right......I haven't had that much to drink, yet.

    Yep. You got it. This site (www.creditnet.com) also has an IP address. That's the real address of the site. However, when the internet became popular and companies wanted to advertise their website, it didn't make sense for Visa to advertise and then expect people to remember that their web address was http://26.76.77.0 (or whatever their IP is). Therefore, they invented domain names. Each domain name is associated with an IP address in order for the users of the internet to "find" it more easily.
