Today I got a letter from Associates Bank/Citibank regarding a VISA account that had 2 30 day lates from 2000. I wrote them a goodwill letter asking them to remove the lates b/c at the time I was going through trouble and the account had been current for nearly 2 years now. I got a letter today saying they had removed the past delinquent history and had reported the update to all 3 of the CRAs. YEAH!!! I AM SO HAPPY. Now, all I need is to get that judgment off my report and I will be well on my way to 700.

Here is the exact letter I used

    To Whom It May Concern:

I, Bob Smith (xxx-xx-xxxx), am writing to ask that the derogatory â??30 Days lateâ? entry be removed from my credit report with the three major credit reporting agencies. I was going through a period of personal turmoil and unfortunately, a few bills slipped my notice once or twice. The account has been current and paid on time for quite a while. Your speedy cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated and I would be grateful for your help in my rebuilding my credit.

    Account #: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
