Finally had some success. I was fighting with an OC about a medical bill they should have billed HMO. First letter back said they made no errors. I was so mad I also contacted the BBB, as well as a US Inspector General (who deals mostly with medicare/aid stuff, but told me they can't bill patients when you have HMO).

So and another round of letter writing or two (they kept pulling the he said/she said stuff and how we didn't have a phone back then). I got a letter stating they had sent a billing to Kaiser (HMO) they denied (it was 2 years after the fact AND Kaiser has pulled out of this area), so they are writing it off, will be sending a letter to the CA to remove it from the credit report. I will double check to make certain they follow through on this. (Bill was under $200).

The second one (still another medical billing error), never has bothered to validate, so I will be sending the second letter. I know the CA can't validate as I contacted the OC in the matter and they have no billing record of this.

Just a note to those starting out (which I am still wet behind the ear), sometimes it takes more than one or two letters, don't stop, just keep at them. Laura
