I have a judgement for rent that was paid in full, and in trying to remove the mark from my credit report, I sent the nutcase letter. I got a call back saying that they will send a letter stating that the account is paid in full, but they are unable to remove this mark from my credit report. What should my next step be in reomving this from my report? Any ideas?

Thanks for all the help you've given me.

Creditors cannot remove judgements. They are a matter of public record. The only ways to get them off your credit report is to have the judgement vacated, or to dispute them with the CRA. Cra's must match 2 out of 3 things to verify a judgement. Name, address, and SS#. Most judgements don't have a SS# on them, and if you dispute the old address associated with the judgement off your report before trying to dispute the judgement, you should be able to get it removed.

If you file a motion to vacate the judgement, the creditor probably won't even answer it being as it has already been settled.

How would you go about filing a motion to vacate the judgement.

There isn't a judgement on there. Sorry to not be clear. There is just a paid collections account out there, and so I sent the nutcase letter. Any ideas on how to follow up?
