Hi everyone, This board has been very informitive I hope someone knows the answer to this one. I am dealing with a collection agency that refused to give me a balance I was paying them and asking for the balance every month also for a account # they refused that also now they are taking me to court next month my question is do they NOT havr to tell my my balance or acc # or do I have to figure out intrest and deduct my payments myself. Thanks
is this collection reporting to the CRA's? If it is on transunion...they have the full account numbers. Couldn't you request validation from them even though you are making payments? They would still be required to give you the information.
Yes most of this took place on the phone but I also asked in writing when I sent in payments. They arn't reporting to to the big 3 so I can't get any help there. Also can they refuse a payment I had offered to make payments befor all of this started for $50.00 per month but they refused twice stating they would only accept $100.00 I have this in writing from them and their attorney, this is all over $1000.00 in medical bills.
How old is this bill they are trying to collect on? Do you know for sure it is your debt? Have they served you? Or are they just threatening you over the phone? What state are you in?
They are my bills medical and they are about 3 yrs old. I have been served the court date is 11/25/02 my wife tried talking to their Att and he wouldn't talk to her. .
