I opened an account with Stage Stores in 1993. The account was charged off sometime later. I do not know exactly when. The original bank was Granite National Bank. It has been sold to World Financial National Network Bank (WFNNB) and is showing an open date of 3/1998. That is NOT correct. I am not even sure that is the same account. I called them and told them that I didn't open an account with them in March 1998 so they opened a fraud investigation. I sent them a fax saying that I appreciate the fraud investigation but that it did nothing for my credit rating in the meantime and that I wanted it immediately removed from my credit report since they had not given me any type of verificaton or validation. I have yet to see them do anything in regard to that request, yet they continue to have this listed on my credit report. They have verified with the CRA's besides since I do have disputes going with the 3 CRAs.
