Re: Second tower gone! Yeah Reshod, I am surprised they didn't change to Delta here. The Admiral was asked if we are at war, wouldn't answer. I don't believe camp David has been attacked. No plane in our skies is going anywhere, believe me. They just aren't talking now. You will only find out what the military is doing after it has been done.

American 11, approx 99 people, Boston to LA Area hit - World Trade Center American 77, approx 60 people, Dulles to LA Area hit - Pentagon United 93 (757), approx 90 people, Newark to SF Area hit - Somerset County, PA United 175 (767), approx 65 people, Chicago? to ? Area hit - rumored to be World Trade Center (only a rumor for now) Will keep everyone updated. The # of people on board keep changing so please take this info with a grain of salt. Dani

Re: Second tower gone! A reporter at National Airport just reported that a plane just landed and was escorted by F-16 fighters until it was on the ground. Being retired military, I will comment that when this step is taken, it is generally because the pilots are under Security Escort orders - Basically planes are escorted to the nearest airport - if they attempt to veer off course it is possible they will be summarily shot down.

Re: Second tower gone! Breeze, this is true. However, they must take some precautions to ensure that other mass casualties are not produced. The government will be excused from any wrong doing. But if shooting down one plane that is warranted, if it prevents the lost of life of more Americans. they are also saying that the President is in Louisiana.
Re: Second tower gone! I know Reshod - we are a military family. I was just feeling for the pilots that would have to do this. A lot of these guys are just kids - I see them racing their jazzy cars on the way to Oceana. They like to drive fast too We go out there and watch them practice sometimes.
Re: Second tower gone! It is awful. And I think this may have happenned with the second Pentagon attack plane. How horrible. Those poor pasengers. May God have mercy on their souls and on the souls of the poor fighter pilots who may have had to fire that shot. My boyfriend's brother in law works at the World Financial Building (right next to one of the Towers). He e-mailed the family and said he saw the first building on fire and watched the plane go into the second building. He's walking uptown and updating us from his portable e-mail.
