Re: Third building collapses Has a friend who is a NYPD officer. She was injured in the blast, but her partner was killed. Hopefully she will be ok, my thoughts and prayers go out to those who have fallen.

Re: Third building collapses I guarantee you those who are being deployed to confidential locations do not know, themselves. where they are going. These guys don't fool around. They tell the troops, "you can go call your family, then get on the plane." That's it. They don't take any chances. Incidentally, along these same lines, 2 battle groups left today - the Kennedy and the George Washington - they will be off the coast near NY and Washington DC. Partly to help the cities with medical facilities and personnel and partly to guard the coastline. Other battle groups are leaving, but no one knows where they are going.
Re: Third building collapses So many people to pray for, including military personnel who could be facing anything. I'm glad we found out they're being deployed. Let me mention one other thing. I've read that medical personnel in New York are seriously overburdened. We can hope and pray that they hold up under the stress.
911 call Just heard on the news - someone who is trapped in the rubble in the subway in NY, called 911 on their cell phone - they must be from PA, it dialed a 911 operator in PA!!! They are trying to use the cellphone to locate the person who called.

Re: This is EERIE It is weird you mention that..My brother-inlaw said last week atleast it is easy to remember my annerversry date..He was married Sept 11th and it equaled 911...Only if we knew..This is so so very wrong..I dont know anyone who got hurt but i have so much anger built up inside..I just hope we find the responsible party and take care of them..I think Bush will do just that even if a country protects them..I would hope we would use our military by all means..It just makes me so mad and sick..God bless you all with familys involved i am real sorry for you all..
Re: This is EERIE Folks, Everyone help out any way you can. Devote any resources that you can to the healing process of this catostophic event. The sooner we get pull together as a country the better..I have been busy all day, answering my church crisis line and I even gave blood. It is unbelievable how people can be affected across our great nation. I live in Ohio and it feels like this tradgedy has occured next door. Do what you can. I ask to God Bless our nation and those innocent lives lost today...

Re: Second tower gone! E-mail from CEO today say we had just over 200 people in the WTC, most have been accounted for (thankfully). He could not release the number we had in the Pentagon, but said it was a significant percent of our Federal IT Department. Hopefully they were in another part of the building. Still no word from my SS buddy who works in the Army Division there, where the hit was. I am sure he has a lot going on and just hasn't checked his email , but I still worry. Hope everyone is hearing from their friends ok. There is/was a list at www.ny.com/wtclist of survivors who had 'checked-in'. I couldn't get to it earlier, it may have just been really busy. Shawn

Re: Second tower gone! Just heard that the intended target of the plane that hit the Pentagon was really the White House. I am listening to the MSNBC feed through my computer at work. That is why President Bush was diverted from Florida to Louisiana to Nebraska.

Re: Second tower gone! Really not sure why they decided to fly into the Pentagon. I thought I heard that it was a last minute diversion. I heard that on CNN. My employer has CNN going on a TV in the lunchroom.
Re: Second tower gone! There were probably some F16's taking off at the time and the guys decided they'd have better luck getting to the Pentagon before getting shot down.
