I know I had read some posts here a while back that said worthknowing.com was a waste of time and their info was inaccurate. I did go there once, a long time ago, and the info they showed on me was only about half of what actually showed up on a real report, so I assumed their site really was inaccurate and misleading. Does anyone know if they have improved things since they have been around for a long time now?
Good for a glance at your TU report...not good for much else. Score, simply ISN'T. And as you said the info is suspect at best to its comleteness and accuracy...but it is FREE. -Peace, Dave
IT IS ALMOST WORTH WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT... It would be nice if they gave you a $20.00 gift card for the gas station of your choice for using their service...BUT I GUESS IT IS FREE...
Is it really not the same as the actual TU? I recommended it to someone who is blocked from getting their TU (for no apparent reason). I told him it was the same as TU. Was I wrong??
I believe it shows up as a soft inquiry on TU. I have used it several times and there is an inquiry notation for each time.
When YOU get your own credit report...it MUST be soft...if you apply for a LOAN or CREDIT CARD..."HARD"...
Although their score is silly, I have found my WorthKnowing report to be COMPLETE and up-to-date with respect to tradelines and inquiries. Even better, the WorthKnowing reports always list the DATES (month and year) of each delinquency, while the report you get directly from Trans Union does not. (Interestingly, Trans Union has sometimes held that they don't even keep that information, which is a lie.) Before my lawsuit when I still had late-pay delinquencies on my TU report, I used WorthKnowing a lot to retrieve my reports. Doc
