Would a BT count as payment?

    Hereâ??s a hypothetical situation:

I have a card I owe $1,000 on, and the bill is due.

I do a balance transfer of $500 to another card well before the due date (btw, can I transfer less than the entire balance?)

Will this BT count as payment by the bank than has issued the first card?

    Thanks.

IF YOU TRANSFER A BALANCE TO CARD 2 FROM CARD 1 YES CARD 1 RECIEVED A PAYMENT......BUT IT TAKES A WHILE FOR SOME A COUPLE DAYS FOR OTHERS SO BE SURE TO ASK HOW LONG....

When I did my BT from one to the other one it took a good week or so to credit. Was just like making a payment to it.

ANY PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS A PAYMENT!!!
    OVER THE PHONE
    ON-LINE
    IN A STORE
    US MAIL
    MONEY GRAM EXPRESS PAYMENT
BALANCE TRANSFER FROM ANOTHER CREDIT CARD

The only thing that does NOT work as a payment is a "CREDIT RETURN" (YMMV)

...BUT IF THE BT GETS THERE ONE DAY LATE...IT IS STILL LATE!!!

I suggest you send min payment ON-LINE even if you are doing a BT...JUST IN CASE...
