I just paid off our Capital One card w/ the MBNA this week because Hubby wanted to limited the number of payments outgoing and because the interest rates are the same 9.9. I couldn't much argue. Now my question is has anyone ever known Capital One to offer any deal's for less than 9.9%

I thought I saw a while back someone who mentioned they had sent a pre approval for an 8.9% fixed rate "No-hassle" Platinum card. You might try calling them up and saying you got the pre approval in the mail and want to see what they could do for you.

    I forgot that 9.9% or 8.9%...

Yeah, it was one of the two. I'm pretty sure it was 8.9%. I'll search back through some of the past posts and see what I find.

Ok, here's the scoop. I just got off the phone with an account manager, and I tried the ole' trick "I got an offer from you for the Platinum card at 9.9%" but it didn't work. The lady did admit they are offering 8.9% on some platinum accounts, and also to those who have a good standing with them. She said to try back in a couple months and I should be able to get at least the 9.9% rate. Oh well, I tried.

Good thing you didn't mention that you don't turn 18 for another 7 months -- else you'd qualify for the "Sorry, We're Canceling Your Card" rate, lol.
