I am thinking it's a good idea for the no interest, but what would it do to scores and the rates of that and other cards? Also I am thinking short term, a few months while I paid it off.
I always almost max out a 0%. It is beeter to pay less interest or make money with the funds than to have a good score. Just my take. www.creditsense.com
Repeat what creditwork said. Be aware that the scores will dip down, but don't let your life be governed by FICO! Make a decision that's most prudent to you.
Re: Re: Would you max out a 0%BT? Thanks guys.....I hear ya! But really, NONE of you have had other cards jack your rates as a result? How fast are you paying them off? a month or two or six?
Re: Re: Would you max out a 0%BT? I paid them off before the "teaser rate" expires. The idea is to leverage the low rate by earning a better rate. www.creditsense.com
Re: Re: Would you max out a 0%BT? (BEFORE I CLOSED ALL MY ACCOUNTS BECAUSE OF BEING JACKED TO 22.49%) FIRST USA sent a letter saying "WE RECEIVED A LARGE PAYMENT...(I PAID IN FULL)...DID WE DO SOMETHING WRONG??? WE HAVE A BALANCE TRANSFER OFFER OF 2.90% FOR 6 MONTHS FOR YOU...CALL THIS 800 NUMBER" They even gave me a "PRE-APPROVED" LIMIT INCREASE of $5,000 (no inquiry)...but they did a "HARD" on the day I did the next BT!!!
Re: Re: Would you max out a 0%BT? Use one card against another..."EXERCISE YOUR CREDIT"...or it will get FAT AND LAZY!!!
Re: Re: Would you max out a 0%BT? I pay kinda' slow at first...if the min payment is say $125.35...I will pay $200.00 or $300.00... The last two months I pay 1/2 of what is left each of the last two months...
