I just logged into my account to check my balance and make sure my payment posted. When I logged out, I immediately received a page that congratulated me for being a valued customer. They also offered me a balance transfer for the life of the loan at 4%. In addition, they also stated my credit limit had automatically been increased from $10,000 to $15,000!! This really surprised me as I just had a credit limit increase of $3,000 in Nov. or Dec. and had my purchase apr reduced to 5.9%. I was satisfied with that.

I must say I am so very impressed with Bank of America.
Just wanted to let those of you who have them or are seeking to add them to your credit portfolio, they will definitely take care of you!! To think, I was going to close this account at one time. LOL

Hey, Butch. I have had this card for 3 years this month. I think my starting limit was with a gold card around $4,000. They have been very generous to me.

I've had them for about a year and a half and I started with a $7500 gold card and have had a couple of increases...at 9 months and then 6 months later. The converted me to Plat, gave me $12.5K, and reduced my rate to 7.9 fixed from 11.9V. I'm very happy with them!

OK Nana, faztcobra, and Miles: What type of score does it take to get BofA? I've got just about everything else (except Amex Blue and any Discover) and have pristine clean EQ report, but because I just bought a house in Feb and a suburban in March, I'm at about 70% utilization.

oh... congrats Miles. That's better than I've every gotten from any creditor, including Amex.

Mike..they pulled TU for me...I had 700 with about 70% ut at the time..was initially declined, approved on reconsideration through PFB...

I got my BofA Plat in Nov/2003 with a 6k CL. BofA pulled TU (score at the time was in the low 700s).

    Best regards,
    Mirage

I was in the 720 or so range or so when I got BofA

Thanks Nana, Mirage and 8004me. Looks like I'll have to pay down my util to get my FICO back up near 700. My TU report is beyond screwed up (I have a split report with them) and have only put off fixing it until we got into a house (which almost didn't happen because they couldn't even pull a TU report on me).

Got my sites on a BofA Plat now, thanks to you all ;-)

Mike, I'm pretty sure when I recieved my card, my scores were in the low 700's. I had no baddies and my utilization was pretty low (always is- scared to death of too much debt- LOL). You may want to get your utilization down a bit, but if apply now and get denied, PFB seems to work for most.

BTW, this is the best increase I have recieved from any creditor in such a short time span. $8,000 in less than six months (and I didn't even ask for it).
Good luck when you decide to apply. BofA has always been great to work with. Their reps are very polite & professional.

I don't know what my score was when i applied as I didn't really know about checking my reports or scores at the time, except for EQ. It was also a pre-approved offer in the mail. I was approved in 11/2002. When I first pulled TU in July '03, my score was 691. I only knew about EQ at the time and my score on EQ was 649 around Nov '02. By July '03, my EQ had gone to 673. If I used point for point calculations, that means my TU at the time I applied was probably 667 or so. That seems kind of low for BofA standards, but since it was pre-approved, maybe that helped. Sorry I don't have more info.

    Did you apply online..

If so, how long did your application status say "pending."

Also, (if you will) what BOA card did you apply for?
