Hello again and to all please someone help me out here. I leased a computer from Dell which I did not include in my Ch. 7 discharged on 10/02 and I was going to continue making my monthly payments but personnal issues in my life made me miss a lot of payments. To make a long story short I received my experian CR and it says $575 written can someone explain ro me what the heck that means. Also where can I locate my score on my experian CR???? I requested it when I ordered it and know I cannot locate it.
It means Dell has wriiten off your account and probably will give it to a collection agency sometime soon Did you simply request your score, or did you pay extra for it? When you get your CR they do not include your score, that is a separate item that must be paid for in addition to the CR
Re: Re: Written Off???& where 2 find score If I pay this to the collection agency will my CR have that on record??
Re: Re: Re: Written Off???& where 2 find score Yes, unless you negotiate to have it DELETED as part of your settlement offer. GET IT ALL IN WRITING! Deletion is the 1st thing you want to ask for if you are paying it off. If they are not happy with that, "paid collection" is the next best. B4 you negotiate that, did you get a letter from any CA stating that Dell placed that debt with (or sold it to) them and they are trying to collect it? If not, they may still hold the debt themselves at Dell. Contact Dell directly 1st and ask for validation. If they say the placed it with a CA, start with the CA.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Written Off???& where 2 find score The original poster did not say that a CA has the debt. I only suggested that that is where it may end up after being written off by Dell. Good advice though on negotiating for deletion of TL Unless OP is in a state that mandates OC's follow same rules for validation as CA's , they are under no obligation to validate the debt
Re: Re: Re: Written Off???& where 2 find score If they won't remove the COLLECTION OFF THE CREDIT REPORT WHEN YOU PAY THEM...DON'T PAY THEM
