i have a citibank account that was CO. It just started showing on EQ for about 10% of the actual amount as the balance, but on the other two reports for the actual amount. is there anyhting that can be done to show the other bureaus a report with that balance to have them change it? the higher number debt is legit, but i am not about to call EQ to tell them to change the number to the higher.

Just using hypnothetical #'s here to make sure I interpreted the question correctly.

So, your CO was $1,500, on TU, and EX its reporting as having a balance of $1,500; but on EQ it just began reporting with a balance of $150.

Since the error is in your favor, I'ld suggest that you don't dispute it!

A smaller CO may not hurt you as much as a larger CO. i.e. you may still get dinged for having derogatory accounts, but you may not get a second ding for "the amount of derogatory accounts is too high."

You didn't make any mention of how old the account is, if the account is within 5 years, the DRP would allow them to have all of the documentation that they would need to conclusively verify the correct balance, and then you've increased the damage done by this CO exponentially.

You just don't want to *HURT* your score by disputing the account.

If you send them the tradeline from EQ, TU & EX will most likely send you a letter telling you that they can not accept the evidence which you submitted, and that they need to contact the furnisher; if they alert the furnisher that they're reporting $150 on EQ, and they want TU & EX to update accordingly, what will the furnisher in all likelihood do, send an update to EQ to update the balance to $1,500.00, and verify that it is reporting as accurate on TU & EX.
