I just got off the phone with customer service, talked to two different reps and got the same answer. My account "doesn't qualify" for me to talk to retention!! If I tell them I want to close the account they will just close it. WTF is going on here? I haven't seen anyone else post about this. Now, I really AM thinking about just closing it. My own personal opinion is that it is because both reps were women, and I am female.....I have never had any luck with female reps. Any suggestions?
I get treated like that when I call also. I think I get different customer service center than Saar and some of the others. I am in VA and the number for CS on my card is 888-335-2222. I've been meaning to get someone on the West Coast to post their CS # to see if it is a different call center. The reps I get are at best disinterested, at worst, rude and unhelpful. They act like they couldn't care less. I know it isn't the way I manage my account with them because I have gotten two automated increases in 8 months, and got my interest rate lowered via email. But if I call I get treated like dirt.
Naw, Breeze...I am an old great-granny...well not so old, will be 62 on the 15th. But have 3 great-grandkids. My call center number is 800-950-5114. Wonder what Saar's is?
What area of th e country? Could some of you other folks post your CS # or call center location, and what part of the country you're in? Also, how CS treats you when you call?
I call 800-950-5114 and I'm from Ohio. The call center I usually speak w/ is in Kentucky. Their very polite and bend over backwards for you!
I've had my account for over 6 and a half years, and they tell me my account doesn't qualify for retention either, so don't feel too bad.
Just recently I called citi's 800-950-5114 number and followed the automated prompts to the one that said "press xx to close your account". I was going to close my account because I had called before to get a BT and they said I wasn't eligible. SO I called back a couple of days later and said I was going to close the account because of it, and they sent me to a "specialized account manager". I think he was in Jacksonville, FL, cause he said something about the Jaguars... They immediately did the BT for me. Hope this helps!
Don't feel bad. I've had my Classic Visa account since 1992 and I have NEVER qualified to be transfered to retention. My call center number is 800-950-5114 as well. Whatever...
