OK, I have 2 collections with CBCS for a dental bill and a physician's bill. One for 3500 and one for 135.00. The 3500 dollar one is paid by me with written agreement for deletion. THe 135 bill was paid with a verbal agreement. I know these people and trust that they have/will delete. Both OC advice me that they have contacted the CA and advised them to remove the collection. I check today and Equifax shows THREE frickin' collections. One PAID 135 collection, one PAID 3500 collection and ONE UNPAID 3500 collection, the same account reported PAID and UNPAID. My score dropped 10 points. I went to the CA and they gave me a dispute form. I need some advice here. What should I do? I am certain both OC's have contacted the CA for deletion. I am correct in the fact that the CA has to do what the OC tells them to do, right? If they say remove the entry, they have to remove the entry???? Please assist!! I'm going for a mortgage in a month or so and I need these off, they are suppose to be off and I need all the points I can get before I apply. THe CA and my local EQ office are in the same building within walking distance of my office. Looks like they'll be seeing me ALOT in the very near future. No mail action here, all personal service
Hi Koz, Obviously they cannot report the same acct as both paid and unpaid. Unless I miss my guess there is no third alternative. Have you tried getting UDF's from CBCS?
Had similar situation before my mortgage.... First, get documentation from the OC for both accounts (you said you had one, right?) stating that account should be removed from report. This will work in two areas...one for the bureaus and one for the mortgage lender in case there is a question. I had one that was due to be removed, wasn't yet, but the CA had provided me the letter stating it was to be deleted. That was all my lender needed. And, I sent it to the bureaus and it was eventually deleted there, as well. In addition, this is interesting because I'm fighting Equifax over the tripliated (my new word) and the duplicated entries for one account! (See previous posts). I just contacted the person at EQ that SCMomof5 gave me the email for and will wait for a response as everyone says she is great. I might suggest you do that, as well, explaining your upcoming mortgage (as in damages possible due to their error on your report). Let me get that email and post it again! Ah, yes, Robin.Holland@Equifax.com. I haven't heard back yet as its been the weekend but it never hurts to try right?
